Taiyo Oil organized "Sun (Taiyo)-nurtured Forest of Imabari City", the 11th Forest Regeneration Volunteer Activity on Saturday, November 16 in Ryuoka, Tamagawa-cho, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.
The sun shone on the day, and the morning was spent on forest conservation activities, such as planting, and pest control for, broad-leaf trees. The courses offered for the afternoon learning experience were wood-bench making, mandala art, pizza kiln making, and pizza cooking: activities that helped all participants further their knowledge of forestry. Taiyo Oil will continue to conduct forest regeneration activities in order to protect forests and so that we can live together with nature.

Activities
Broad-leaf tree (sawtooth oak) planting
ー Planted approximately 160 broadleaf (oak) trees for creating a multi-layered forest
Pest control activities
ー Put up protective materials to prevent tree damage from deer.
Experience learning
・Wooden bench making: hand-made wooden benches, using no metal parts, for use in public facilities
・Mandala art: art created using fallen leaves and nuts of trees, for "forest therapy" that calms the mind
・Pizza kiln making, and pizza cooking: putting together a kiln able to withstand high temperatures, and cooking dessert pizzas from locally grown blueberries.
