Taiyo Oil Extends Taiyo Oil Scholarship Program for Additional 5 Years, Presentation Ceremony Held

2024.03.18

We are pleased to announce that a presentation ceremony for the Ehime University Scholarship Fund “Taiyo Oil Scholarship” was held at Ehime University.

The Taiyo Oil Scholarship was established at Ehime University in FY2019 for the purpose of supporting students' studies. Over the past five years, approximately 100 students have received this non-repayable scholarship.

We have decided to continue this program for an additional five years until FY2028 to further develop an environment in which economic burdens on students are lessened.

Taiyo Oil Senior Vice President Mikio Murakami attended the ceremony that was held at the university to celebrate the decision to extend the program.

He presented the list of donations that will serve as operational funds for the period in question to Hiroshige Nishina, President of Ehime University.

Regarding the scholarship system, President Nishina expressed his appreciation for the support of a local company, and one of the attending grantees of this year's scholarship gave gratitude, saying “Despite financial difficulties, I was able to devote myself to my research activities by using the money to pay for conference participation fees.”

In response, Mr. Murakami expressed his hope that the support would be effectively utilized by the grantees for personal growth according to their individual circumstances.

Applications for the FY2024 scholarships will be accepted from March 15 to May 10, with approximately 20 grantees to be selected by early August based on academic performance, financial circumstances, and a review of their essays.

Taiyo Oil will continue to engage in initiatives aimed at nurturing the leadership of the future.
